.in and .co.in: e-KYC and public WHOIS

The .in registry runs its own verification. None of this is a Vedatricks rule, and none of it can be waived — so it is on this page, before the payment screen, rather than after it.

The registry (NIXI) requires registrant e-KYC verification. Indian residents verify through DigiLocker; overseas registrants verify with a passport plus proof of a connection to India.
WHOIS privacy is restricted on .in. The registrant name, city and state stay publicly visible; only some contact fields are masked.
Disposable and encrypted email addresses are not accepted for registrant contacts.
After expiry there is an auto-renew grace period followed by a redemption period before the name is released. Redemption carries a registry fee.

Your registration is governed by that registrar’s registration agreement and by ICANN policy, including the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy.
Registrant rights and responsibilities are published by ICANN and apply to every generic top-level domain you register through us.
Keeping your registrant contact details accurate and responding to the registrar’s verification email is your responsibility. A domain can be suspended if verification is ignored.

Before you pay.

How long does registration take?

Generic domains such as .com, .net and .org are usually registered within minutes of a successful payment. A .in or .co.in name waits on registry e-KYC verification, which depends on how quickly you complete DigiLocker or send the documents.

Can I get a refund?

A registered domain cannot be returned. The registry charges the moment a name is created, so registrations are non-refundable once the order is placed. If a registration fails at the registry, the amount is refunded in full.

Is the domain in my name?

Yes. You are the registrant. We create the contact record from the details you give at checkout, and we can move the domain to another registrar after the transfer lock period the registry sets.

Do you host the domain too?

We can. Domains, business mailboxes and hosting are usually set up together when we build a site, and we point the nameservers for you. If you only want the name, you take the credentials and use it anywhere.

Does the price go up at renewal?

No. We charge the same price at renewal as at registration — there is no discounted first year that jumps twelve months later. The table shows both columns so you can check. If a registry changes its wholesale price, the new price applies from your next renewal and is shown before you pay.
